Society has a tendency to erase disability, render those who live it as unseen. Issues of access and stigma have meant for the 20% of Australians living with disability, participation in the arts remains low. Front Up, a community arts hub in Seven Hills, is working to change this, developing artists’ practice and putting their work back where it belongs. This piece was recorded as the Emerge Program artists prepared for their launch exhibition at the Barangaroo Cutaway in late 2016.
The Emerge team at the Art Gallery of NSW. The artists spent three days exploring the artworks in three exhibitions: Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera: from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection, Manifesto and Eko Nugroho: Lot lost.
